|benefit=You can cast even if your hands are full, automatically accessing any material components or focus you have on your person, but your spell requires a different additional focus you must hold.  Traditionally this is your weapon or shield which you use the somatic components for.  Choose an item to become your focus.  Any spells modified with this metamagic require this item as a focus.

In addition, the focus must be valuable enough to use for the spell.  The cost of the focus item is (spell level squared x 100 gp).  So it needs a 200 gp item to cast 1st level spells, and a 18,000 gp item to cast 9th level spells.  0th level spells don't cost anything.

If your item is lost, replaced, or destroyed you can assign a new focus item over the course of 1 hour of rest and meditation.  A item focus spell uses up a spell slot equal to the spell's actual level.
