Continual Shade
Evocation [Darkness]
Level: Cleric 3, Sorcerer/Wizard 2
Components: V, S, M
Casting time: 1 standard action
Range: Touch
Effect: Magical, darkness creating flame
Duration: Permanent
Saving Throw: None
Spell Resistance: No

The torch, barely visible, was consumed in black flames, and seemed to draw light into it and consume it.

This creates a flame superficially similar to continual flame, but black with dark red outlines. Where that spell creates light forever, this one sheds dark as darkness. A continual shade can be covered and hidden but not smothered or quenched.

Darkness spells counter and dispel light spells of an equal or lower level. This spell also acts as a counter to continual flame, dispelling it without a check (and vice versa).

Material Component: You sprinkle black ash (worth 50 gp) on the item that is to carry the black flame.
