Cystic Magic [Spellcasting] Your magic's messed up, dude. You just gave that guy magic cancer. Benefits: This is a spellcasting feat that scales with the highest-level spell slot you have.

  • 0: Damage spells you cast can encyst the target, as per the Necrotic Cyst spell. The target gets the fortitude save as normal for the Necrotic Cyst spell, in addition to whatever saves the spell applying the benefit of this feat requires. The triggering spell is considered to have done all the work of touching whatever target (or targets) are affected by it, so yes, this can apply Necrotic Cyst in an area of effect if you pair it with an area of effect damage spell. In addition to this, you've grown a cyst of your own.

  • 1: Spells that you cast on encysted targets benefit from a +1 to the DC for the save, as the cyst inside the target rather likes the magic you do and wants to spread its love to the host it's grown in. This is in addition to the already-extant -2 penalty to the target's saves against necromancy the cyst gives. Share and enjoy!

  • 3: Damage spells that you cast cast on encysted targets deal an extra die of damage of the type relevant to the spell for each spell level you can cast. That means a fireball against an encysted target with this feat would deal an extra 3d6 damage, increasing to 4d6 when you can cast level 4 spells, etc. The target is entitled to a fortitude save with a DC equal to the save of the spell that's triggering this effect. If they pass, they negate the damage. If you should be caught in your own area of effect spells or subjected to your own magic, you're subject to this extra damage as well.

  • 6: Damage spells that you cast on encysted targets cause the cyst to swell up from the magical energies you're feeding it, causing an automatic necrotic bloat spell to take effect in addition to the spell you cast. Saves are allowed as normal for the spell's effect. If you should be caught in your own area of effect spells or subjected to your own magic, you're subject to this extra effect as well.

  • 9: Any personally-encysted targets you slay with your magic automatically rise as skulking cysts under your control, because you're their mommy! You can control a number of Hit Dice of skulking cysts equal to 4x(Caster Level) - these count against your limit for undead controlled through animate dead and similar means. Any skulking cysts raised over this amount still exist anyway and act as befits undead, though they're generally less opposed to you. You just can't control them and they're gross.
As with the other effects of this feat, since you have a cyst, if you die, you'll become a skulking cyst as well. You're still dead, but hey, at least you leave behind a foul, crawling corpse.
