Respiratory Burst

Spotting the minuscule intruder, you deftly launch a glowing red pair of interconnected beads. They split apart as they reach the target, creating a burst of specialized fire that literally digests the foe.

This spell functions like fireball, except that the damage done according to caster level is capped at 15d6. In addition, this spell does +1d6 extra damage to a creature per size category it is smaller than Medium, and such creatures also take a cumulative −1 penalty to their Reflex and Fortitude saves against this spell for every size category smaller than Medium. A creature slain by this spell is digested into tiny bits of protein, ready for presentation to the undertaker. It may not be revived through anything less powerful than a resurrection spell. (Mechanically, the victim is disintegrated.)

The damage dealt by this spell is half fire and half acid. (The acid damage is actually due to digestive enzymes; the fire damage is an intense oxygen-based reaction.) The Reflex save halves the fire damage, and the Fortitude save halves the acid damage.

As with fireball, you must make a ranged attack roll to get the spell through a narrow opening, but you gain a +2 circumstance bonus to this ranged attack roll.

The area of the burst is initially a 15-ft. radius spread. When you reach caster level 11th, it becomes a 20-ft. radius spread. When you reach caster level 17th, it becomes a 25-ft. radius spread.

Arcane Material Component: ¼ an ounce of pus, which can be from any organic source. (You can use pus from acne, from gangrene, or from anything else that causes lesions.)
