Shutdown Serum uses Better Poison Implementation rules.

Shutdown Serum is a sinister mind-controlling poison that, upon entering a victim's body, travels to their brain and binds to their neurotransmitter receptors, blocking neurotransmitters and preventing brain cells from communicating. This prevents the brain from functioning properly, causing the creature to become sluggish and ultimately fall unconscious. Even worse, it is highly resistant to being removed from the body once in place, and it takes a long time for the effects to wear off on their own. Worst of all, it is highly responsive to telepathy. A psionic character can manipulate Shutdown Serum within the body of another, suppressing or reactivating the effects on a whim. A creature who has been dosed with Shutdown Serum multiple times can be outright controlled by a psionic creature, as it can manipulate the poison to rather literally hijack the victim's brain and control their very thoughts.

Duration: 1 month

Initial Effect: The victim becomes fatigued until the poison's duration expires, unless they succeed on a Fortitude save.

Heightened Effect: The victim suffers a −2 penalty to Reflex saves, Fortitude saves, ability checks, skill checks, attack rolls, damage rolls, and grapple checks until the duration expires. This effect does not allow a save. The penalty is cumulative for multiple doses. A psionic character can freely adjust the penalties suffered by the victim, up to the maximum penalty for how many doses the victim has suffered, as a move action.

Secondary Effect: The victim must succeed on a Fortitude save or fall unconscious, remaining comatose until the duration expires. A psionic character can freely wake the victim up or put them back into a comatose state as a standard action. Additional doses reset the duration of the coma.

Delayed Effect: 1d4 Strength damage, 1d6 Dexterity damage, and 1d6 Wisdom drain.

Lethality Threshold: 15. Shutdown Serum, however, does not actually kill. When the "lethality threshold" is reached, the victim immediately falls comatose (as the secondary effect) without getting another saving throw, and the duration becomes permanent; at this point, Shutdown Serum will never be cleared from the subject's body without being forcibly removed. A psionic character can put the victim under a supernatural true domination effect at will, without allowing a save.
