Aura: Moderate Transmutation and special
Activation: constant

A subdermal Item disc is a tiny magic device which is implanted within the subject's body. Before implantation, it absorbs the power of a single magic item, permanently destroying that item. Once implanted, the disk replicates the effects of that item as if it were worn normally (including counting that body slot as occupied; you cannot use an item disc to wear more magic items that you normally could). The disc is implanted in the same general area of the body that the item would normally occupy. An item disc cannot be targeted by an attack or spell independently of the implanted creature. Magic weapons, armors and clothing cannot be used with an item disc, though certain magic items that enhance your attacks (such as an amulet of mighty fists) can be absorbed and implanted. Magic items which come in pairs (such as boots and gloves) require only one item disc, but still count as having both body slots occupied. If the item's enhancement could be normally increased (such as increasing the Dexterity bonus in a pair of gloves from +2 to +4), the subdermal disc can be increased the same way.

Removing a subdermal item disc requires a DC 20 Heal check and 1 hour, otherwise the implanted creature takes 2d10 damage and there is a 10% chance of breaking the item disc, rendering it nonfunctional. Though there is no limit on the number of implanted disks a creature may have, each item disc subtracts -1 hp from the creature's maximum hit points while implanted. A creature with an item disc may suppress the effect as a free action, allowing him to wear another item occupying the same slot.

The aura of an unused item disc is moderate transmutation, but once it absorbs the power of a magic item, the aura changes to match that of the item.

Strong transmutation; CL 9th; Graft Flesh (any), fabricate; Price 1,000 gp; must have the magic item to be absorbed.
