Bypassing SR is strong as well as its attack-action use, but balanced in its price and 1/day application, making it the perfect tool to use on the BBEG Demon you don't want escaping. Plus, its thematically cool, and re-usable! Hear hear.

Finally! A (relatively) cheap way to deal with teleporting enemies! Definitely an awesome item that stops enemies from just teleporting away from the party at their slightest whim.

Simple, elegant, priced about right...I love it! Using a dart to deliver a status effect fits very nicely with what a dart is meant to do anyway, and it doesn't waste gold like magical ammunition does. It does its job effectively without wasting too much time or being too handily reusable.

Hey, giving a semi-mundane way of keeping creatures stuck on the place they are on sounds fun. And the fact they can be reused the next day adds icing onto the cake. Definitely would help a fighter level build stay relevant at higher levels, just a little longer. But also useful in wizard campaigns.

Meaning Clarificiation[edit]

The effect only triggers once per day.

Does this mean the effect of the dart triggers only once or that a creature struck by these may only have the affect occur once and then the creature is immune to the spell portion of the dart? --Havvy 22:58, 8 January 2011 (UTC)

I'm going to assume it means the effect only works once per dart. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Havvy (talkcontribs) at

Bypassing SR[edit]

I like the item, but I'm wondering how ignoring SR was included in balance calculations, and what ramifications it could have in designing other magic items.--Quey 22:00, 7 August 2012 (UTC)

It bypasses SR because you have to make a different (non spell-resistance) check in order to have the spell go off. In this case, you have to hit with the dart. Dimensional anchor, on the other hand, needs merely a touch attack. Surgo 21:57, 7 August 2012 (UTC)
