I'm not sure why I'm currently the author, since I only cited the description of the effect from Code Geass (it's the drug Refrain).

Anyways, the spell is a nice variation of turning people insane, and makes a nice addition to the illusion school as an early save or suck with a low low probability of also being a save or die which becomes more likely at higher levels.

School[edit]

Why illusion? It looks like a variant of Modify Memory, one that specifically removes a lot of them, which is Ench (compul) instead. - Tarkisflux Talk 23:36, 24 September 2012 (UTC)

Partly because the SRD definition of Illusion magic, which is ambiguous enough to allow this spell to fit the Illusion school as well. I don't necessarily put a bunch of stock in that, but in this case it suited my purposes as I personally want there to be more Illusion spells. Enchantment works fine as well, but was just less convenient for me. Selfish, I know, but that's my reasoning. - TG Cid (talk) 02:31, 25 September 2012 (UTC)
That's kind of mean to Enchantment's already limited breadth. Also, by fluff, it's more like the "recall with perfect accuracy" option of Modify Memory. --Foxwarrior (talk) 03:47, 25 September 2012 (UTC)
By the same token, doesn't Illusion by its very nature intrude on Enchantment? Many illusions seem to me like they could also pass as enchantment spells, although not vice versa, with the exceptions being things like mirror image and blur that don't have Will saves for disbelief. - TG Cid (talk) 03:53, 25 September 2012 (UTC)

Breaking out of it...[edit]

I would be more comfortable if you were able to shake someone out of it. Even if the 5 failure thing still applies perma, at least before that I think something this deadly should have a shake-out attempt. -- Eiji-kun (talk) 05:49, 28 December 2016 (MST)
