Nihilism Mantle[edit]

This mantle represents the utter lack of deeper meaning in the ways of the universe. It also represents the idea that since life and existence do not have any inherent meaning, each living creature must choose for itself what the meaning of the universe is.

Granted Ability[edit]

You don't believe in conventional morality; in fact, your lack of belief in absolute morality is so strong that magic, psionics, and similar powers that draw their might from morality don't know what to make of you. All spells, powers, and other effects that affect creatures differently based on your alignment treat you as though your alignment produced the most favorable result for you. (For instance, holy word would treat you as a good creature, while blasphemy would treat you as an evil creature.)

Mantle Aura Effect[edit]

All creatures within range of your aura take a −2 penalty on attack rolls, saving throws, and skill checks as long as they remain in the aura. A creature can negate the effect of the aura on themselves only with a Will save (DC = 10 + ½ your class level + your Wisdom modifier). This Will save is made as soon as the creature enters the aura, and its effects remain for the next 24 hours; a successful Will save renders the creature immune to the aura for 24 hours, while a failed Will save means that the creature will be affected by the aura for the next 24 hours. You are always immune to your own aura, and you may exclude up to one other creature per three class levels from its effects.
