== Armor of Thorns ==

This suit of blackened plate and mail-backed leather is festooned with sharp, jagged spikes designed to make any foe think twice before daring to attack.

Once worn by a group of warriors that stole the souls of their slain enemies. Every part of this armor seems in some way designed to bring harm to those around it. However, due to this heavy emphasis on offense in its construction, the breastplate itself is lacking in terms of protection compared to other, more conventional plate armors. The ''armor of thorns'' is fashioned from crude black iron and standardly contains [[SRD:Armor Spikes|armor spikes]]. Both the armor of thorns and its spikes are always [[SRD:Masterwork|masterwork]]; price and benefits are subsumed in the above statistics.

The armor of thorns grants the following benefits when worn, on top of its general protective capabilities:

*Armor of thorns counts as a masterwork skill tool for the [[SRD:Tumble Skill|Tumble]] skill and for [[SRD:Grapple|grapple]] checks. The armor's [[SRD:Armor Check Penalty|armor check penalty]] does not apply to [[SRD:Tumble Skill|Tumble]] checks.
*Enemies attacking you in melee with a non-[[SRD:Reach Weapon|reach]] weapon provoke [[SRD:Attack of Opportunity|attacks of opportunity]] from you, but they may only be taken with your [[SRD:Armor Spikes|armor spikes]].
*You gain the benefits of the [[Blade Rampart (3.5e Feat)|Blade Rampart]] feat, but only with respects to your [[SRD:Armor Spikes|armor spikes]].
*You may make a free attack with your [[SRD:Armor Spikes|armor spikes]] against any enemy you [[SRD:Tumble Skill|tumble]] past, but only once per [[SRD:Round|round]] per individual enemy. If you tumble through a square occupied by an enemy, you get a +4 bonus to the attack roll.
