Level: 5th
Binding DC: 25
Special Requirement: The Scarlet Rogue only answers the call of chaotic characters who are either very promiscuous, were raised in violence, or had one of their dearest romance ending in death.
Legend[edit]
It is unknown if the Scarlet Rogue was even a real person to begin with. She became popular as a character played in a so-called 'historic play' in a theatrics cabaret in the Old Metropolis, a city so full of sins that it said the Gods eventually plunged it into the depths of the sea. According to the play, the Scarlet Rogue was a female thief of great beauty; more than a little mad, she had adventures in love and revenge all over the world, even going as far as slashing the throat of a powerful emperor to avenge a fallen lover, but also a dear protectors of the orphans. The Scarlet Rogue became so popular that entire cabaret were built to house shows featuring the characters; she brought prosperity for many businessmen and was an inspiration for many young thieves of both genders.
Eventually, a tidal wave destroyed almost all of the Old Metropolis, the city was abandoned, and the Scarlet Rogue was forgotten. The vestige known as the Scarlet Rogue is theorized to either be the original, whose story was told and re-told multiple times, one of the many young thieves inspired by the act who got shunted out of reality by mischance, or even the fictional character herself, who gained some kind of existence thanks to her popularity and near worship.
Manifestation[edit]
The seal beneath you starts flashing red, and soon the entire area around you becomes filled with light and shadow. You can hear the clapping and cheering of an unseen crowd, and the seal becomes much like a stage. An unseen female figure then approaches the binder as the cheering fades and asks her if she has the guts to perform the act of the Scarlet Rogue (see special requirement). If the binding is successful, the cheering becomes intense as the entire seal crumbles into nothing.
Sign[edit]
The binder's face becomes covered in makeup, as if she was starring in a famous cabaret show in the Old Metropolis. The makeup can be simply wiped off the binder's face, but reappears one hour later. Your colors and the colors of your clothing seem intensified, and the contrast between colors is made very apparent. The contrast between red and other colors is even more extreme, causing any article of red clothing to stand out perfectly from your outfit.
Influence[edit]
The Scarlet Rogue makes the character very bold in both social situations and combat situations. She also makes the binder essentially shameless, increases her impulsiveness, and twists the binder's sanity. The binder becomes much more vengeful as well, punishing slights disproportionately. The pact also particularly increases the binder's traits that allowed her to summon the Scarlet Rogue.
If the binder is very promiscuous, she will simply make the binder more so; coupled with the shamelessness, this can lead to rather bad memories after the pact is over.
If the binder was raised in violence, then her sense of revenge becomes even more disproportionate, often killing (or beating to submission) at the slightest insult.
If the binder had one of her dearest romance end in death, she becomes obsessed with avenging her dead lover and will go after anything that could be blamed for his or her death (except herself).
The Scarlet Rogue's influence also makes the binder resent harming a child in any way and often take insane risks to save a child from harm. This is trait is even more acute toward orphans. A binder influenced by the Scarlet Rogue will try to actively hurt those who hurt or have hurt children and orphans in the past.
