Stormwitch[edit]

This is a total rewrite of the Stormcaster class from Stormwrack, however it bears great difference and share mostly a thematic structure.

That's it! If you move an inch I'll obliterate you right there with a bolt of lightning. That said, looking at you right now, a gust of wind might just finish you off!
—Ikeda Tomoe, Mitahnese Human Stormwitch

It was said that ancient caster would turn to the sky for their powers, of those some drew upon the power of the storm. The Stormwitch follows that principle, channeling the fury of a storm into the spells. Those who embark on this path can have a chaotic mind, using their emotion to draw upon the fury above, or a disciplined mind able to carefully harness the powers in their spellcasting. A Stormwitch's air, electric and water spells are enhanced by their connection with the storm and more than a few rely upon them.

Class Features[edit]

All of the following are class features of the Stormwitch.

Spellcasting: At each level except 1st level, you gain new spells per day and an increase in caster level (and spells known, if applicable) as if you had also gained a level in a spellcasting class to which you belonged before adding the prestige class level. You do not, however, gain any other benefit a character of that class would have gained. If you had more than one spellcasting class before becoming a stormwitch, you must decide which class to add each level for the purpose of determining spells per day, caster level, and spells known.

Storm Power (Ex): A stormwitch is capable of harnessing the fury of the storm. Any spell or spell-like you cast that has the air, electricity, sonic, or water descriptor is cast at +2 caster level.

Eye of the Storm (Ex): A 2nd level stormwitch is capable of weathering even the greatest storm, she gains energy resistance to electricity 10 and treats wind effect as one category less severe when advantageous. If she fall under the effect of air walk or wind walk she increased her speed by 30 feet and 300 feet respectively. She also gains a +4 bonus on saves against electricity and wind effects.

Tempest Spell Access (Ex): A 2nd level stormwitch may select spells with the [air] and [electricity] descriptor from the druid and sorcerer/wizard spell list as if they were on her spell list, no matter their spellcasting class of origin.

Channel the Storm (Su): A 3rd level stormwitch can channel the storm into her spells, as a full-round action while in a storm, hurricane or similar weather condition she can channel the true fury of the storm in her next spell. The next spell augmented by her Storm Power ability she cast within the next round is automatically affected by Empower Spell feat without an increase in casting time or spell level. Once she uses this ability she must wait 5 rounds before using it again.

At 6th level the Stormwitch may instead modify the spell as per Maximize Spell.

At 9th level the Stormwitch combine both the Empower Spell and Maximize Spell feats when using Channel the Storm.

Wind Barrier (Su): A 4th level stormwitch can summon a barrier of air to protect herself as a swift action, granting her a +4 shield bonus to AC. While her barrier is active she gains DR 10/Magic against non-siege ranged attacks. The stormwitch may use her wind barrier for a number of hours equal to her class level per day, uses need not to be consecutive but is used in increment of hours. The stormwitch can dismiss her wind barrier as a free action.

Stormbolt (Su): A 5th level stormwitch infuses her spell with the power of the storm. Whenever she cast a spell that deal electricity damage, she deals an additional number of point of sonic damage equal to the number of electricity damage dice roller.

Storm Aura (Su): A 7th level stormwitch is surrounded by constant wind and storm. Within 30 feet of her she can summon rain and wind, acting as an emanation, whenever she activates her aura she may have it be smaller than normal. Creatures in the aura treat each square that brings them closer to the Stormwitch as difficult terrain. They can move normally in any other direction. She may activate and suppress this ability as a free action.

Tempest Caller (Sp): A 8th level stormwitch can tap into her powers and summon a great storm, she can use control weather once per day but can only create a windstorm, thunderstorm, or hurricane-force winds, at her option she may add hail or rain. She may use a 7th level spell to spontaneously cast control weather with the same restriction as above. Additionally when casting control weather through this ability, she counts as a druid of her caster level.

Sovereign of the Storm (Ex): A 10th level, the stormwitch embraces the power of the storm and becomes immune to electricity and is unaffected by wind effect unless she desires it.
