Each round the caster may as a swift action direct a focused beam of light at a target within the emanation. The light beam deals the target 2d6 light damage per caster level. The target may make a Reflex save for half damage.
A creature looking directly at the caster or that is adjacent to the caster is blinded for 1d4 rounds, or as long as it continues to look or remains adjacent plus an additional 1d4 rounds thereafter. A non-adjacent creature that averts may avert its eyes (as avoiding a [https://www.d20srd.org/srd/specialAbilities.htm#gazeAttacks gaze attack]). A blinded creature may attempt a Fortitude save to suppress the blinding effect for 1 round.
Nova counters or dispels any darkness spell.
