Ripple Cross Guard
Sunlight Breath (Counter)
Level: 2
Initiation Action: Immediate
Range: Personal
Target: You
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: None

A variation of the ripple drive technique, the user allows the atapa to freely flow within the limbs they plan to block an attack with. This allows them to counter the damage that would be dealt, and also overwhelm their foes with atapa.

You may initiate this counter when you are attacked, gaining a +2 shield bonus on AC as well as DR 3/— against the triggering attack. If you were attacked in melee by a conductive weapon, you may deal 2d6 damage to the attacker, which may be dealt as nonlethal damage if you wish. The shield bonus to AC granted by this maneuver stacks with other shield bonuses to AC.

You may spend 1 point of breath energy as part of initiating this maneuver, increasing the shield bonus by +2, the DR by 2 and the damage dealt to the attack by +1d6.
