Aboleth Pustule

A blister-like object filled with a gray jelly. You puncture the skin and drop it into water which immediately begins to gel.

A substance, or perhaps an organ, harvested from aboleths the aboleth pustule when broken and dropped in water causes the water to gel over. When dropped in water it converts a 20 ft radius, 20 ft high cylinder of goo that cannot be breathed by water-breathing creatures, drops movement speed through the goo to 5 ft, and provides partial concealment (20% concealment). Melee attacks have a -2 penalty to attack and damage, and non-siege projectiles have a -8 penalty. The goo is neutrally buoyant with the surrounding water and does not rise or sink, but fast moving water such as rapids disperses it in 1 round. It also disperses naturally after 10 minutes.

It can be thrown as a splash weapon against creatures with high water content like water elementals or oozes, which deals 2d6 damage and causes the creature to be slowed for 1d4 rounds. Durations overlap, they do not stack.

Craft (Alchemy) DC 25. Market Price 700 gp.
