Alchemical Sheath[edit]

An alchemical sheath holds a special substance to be applied to the sheathed weapon when drawn.

Filling an alchemical sheath with a substance is a full-round action that provokes an attack of opportunity. The sheath can be loaded with magic oils, resins or poisons. Activation is taken as a swift action when the weapon is drawn from the sheath. A character with the Quick Draw feat can activate the stored substance and draw the weapon without additional action usage.

Durations stop (but at the loss of a single round) if the weapon is re-sheathed while an application is active.

A character using poison in this way faces all the normal dangers of using and applying poisons.
