|benefit=This metamagic feat may only apply to spells with the [death] descriptor or that deal damage. A creature slain by an annihilating spell has it body reduced to ashes (as per [[SRD:Disintegrate|''disintegrate'']]). An annihilating spell is particularly destructive on objects, ignoring hardness and always dealing maximum damage against unattended objects and terrain. An annihilating spell uses a spell slot +1 level higher than the spell’s actual level.

If a creature is slain by an annihilating spell with the [death] descriptor, the spell also destroys it soul. This essentially make the slain creature stop existing, leading to no afterlife and making resurrection difficult. The target cannot be [[SRD:Resurrection|resurrected]]; unless an opposed caster level check is successful. If the check fail the resurrection attempt fails and all resources in its casting are wasted. Alternatively, the slain creature may be resurrected through [[SRD:True Resurrection|''true resurrection'']], [[SRD:Miracle|''miracle'']], or [[SRD:Wish|''wish'']] without chances of failure.
