|benefit=Pick a spellcasting class you have.  For that class, you gain a number of slots equal to your spellcasting stat bonus ([[SRD:Intelligence|Int]] bonus for [[SRD:Wizard|Wizards]], [[SRD:Charisma|Cha]] bonus for [[SRD:Sorcerer|Sorcerers]]).  These slots may be used to fuel metamagic feats at a one for one trade off of slots to levels increased.
|example=A 1st level wizard with 18 intelligence and the metamagic feat [[SRD:Silent Spell|Silent Spell]] wants to cast [[SRD:Silent Image|Silent Image]].  Normally, this would require a second level spell slot the wizard does not have, but because the wizard has Arcane Metamagic, it may use one of its four metamagic slots to power this spell.
