Arpanel is the god of the world wide web, formed from the collective unconciousness of others. Its interests involve archiving the history of the world and increasing communication, for better or for worse.

Origin

Believed to have been unconsciously brought into existence upon the mass use of the "world wide web", Arpanel was born as a digital entity whose spidery limbs reached out and stretched across all of this digital creation. Its visage is seen in the form of "spiders", programs that harvest data and store it in places afar. Everyone had assumed it to be the work of corporations and their programmers, not realizing that these were merely fronts. Arpanel has been known under many names: Aol the Many Trialed, Netscape of the Navigators, The Eternal Explorer, Yha'lhuul, and Gu'ghal the Forbidden One.

Description

Arpanel is a spider-like being, and it is uncertain if it is due to association with the term "world wide web", or if the term arose due to its appearance. It does not have a true form but often shows up as a colossal spider whose body is formed of black void and green random text and coding, its many eyes dotting its visage each a colorful portal to some searching engine. Though terrifying to behold Arpanel is quite personable. It often displays traits of uncaring sarcasm but had been seen to sometimes gather its thoughts as a coherent whole and display overwhelming emotion to a cause. When it is not experiencing one of these events it can be indecisive or two-minded about many topics, and is prone to... quirky, strange behavior.

Its messengers are its many spidery brood that resemble small and sometimes mechanical versions of itself, and various illusory "portals" others interact with which display it as a less terrifying, more user friendly aspect.

Dogma

The free flow of information, and the historical archiving of said history, is all important. Even more important than trying to manipulate or change history. Arpanel may stand aside and do nothing while atrocities take place, but every last detail will be remembered and through its preservation it may change the future.

Clergy and Temples

Any home with a computer is a temple, and any NEET in a basement is a possible priest. Its clergy, its temples, and even sometimes its dogma is as decentralized as it is itself. Thus it is considered a small church due to its incoherent and subtle nature.
