Astral Assistance
Conjuration (Summoning)
Level: Cleric 7, Sorcerer/Wizard 7
Components: V, S, F
Casting time: 1 minute
Range: Unlimited
Effect: Glowing sigil which can summon the caster to help without threat of death.
Duration: Permanent until discharged, then 1 hour
Saving Throw: None
Spell Resistance: Yes

When in danger, you only need touch my sign, and I shall cross the gaps between the worlds, and engage in jolly co-operation!

You draw a glowing white sign similar to arcane mark on a surface. Any creature can touch it as a standard action and attempt to summon you as per astral invader, though typically with the intent to help the creature rather than attack them. When the sign is activated, the caster appears as a glowing white astral body, and the creature can make one request (which the summoned caster can choose to follow or not). The spell ends when 1 hour is up, the request is fulfilled, or either the caster or the creature who summoned him dies. If the request is successful, the caster gains +1 attack, damage, saves (maximum +5), and +5 temporary hp for 24 hours. At any point, the caster or the creature who summoned him can dismiss the caster as a standard action.

The caster must take care of where he places his mark, for anyone can summon him at any time. If he is not careful, he may be summoned while he is in a dangerous situation himself. The sign can persist forever, but is expended once used.

Rumor has it variants of this spell exist which summon golden and red astral bodies. While the golden astral bodies seem identical to the use of this spell, red astral bodies are done with a special red soapstone as focus and apparently act identical to astral invader with no save. Why anyone would willingly summon someone with the intent to kill them is uncertain.

Focus: A white soapstone (or more rarely, a red soapstone).
