DO NOT PURSUE LU BU!
—Human Barbarian, Issuing a Warning

Barbarian's Pride

Some Barbarian do not froth at the mouth when they fight, instead they draw upon their immense pride and ego to pull through anything. These barbarian are less resilient than their brothers, but can focus their mind much better and even issue challenges and warning to their foes. However they find themselves unable to turn down dangerous challenges.

Class: Barbarian or Pathfinder Barbarian

Level: 1st, 11th, 17th, 20th

Replaces: Barbarian's Rage, Greater Rage, Tireless Rage, Mighty Rage

Benefit: You replace your Barbarian's Rage ability with Barbarian's Pride. The ability become Greater Barbarian's Pride at 11th level and Mighty Barbarian's Pride at 20th as normal and otherwise act just like Rage with the exception outlined below:

You start Barbarian's Pride as you would start rage, however you cannot start your Pride while you resolve are diminished (see below). When you start your Barbarian's Pride you suppress any [Fear] effect you suffer for the duration and become immune to any [Fear] effect for it duration. The suppressed [Fear] effect's duration still elapse while suppressed.

While in Barbarian's Pride you only gain the Rage bonus to Strength and Will saving throw, not Constitution. Unlike a rage you are still able to act as normal, you can fully use your skills or even cast spells. While in Barbarian's Pride you are unable to take the Withdraw action and you must accept challenge ability (such as a Sublime Samurai's Challenge) unless the challenge would force you to act against your nature. Once you stop your Barbarian Pride your resolves are diminished and you become Shaken for the same amount of time you were using Pride, bypassing immunities to fear.

While in Barbarian's Pride you can yell a challenge or a warning as a move action. If you issue a challenge you gain a +2 bonus to attack and AC against a single creature chosen when the challenge is issued and a -2 penalty to attack and AC against every other. If you issue a warning, every hostile creatures within 60 feet are At Bay from you until they successfully deal damage to you. Both abilities last for as long as you maintain your Barbarian's Pride. This is a [Language-Dependent] ability and do not affect Mindless creature. Once this ability is used it cannot be used again for 5 rounds.
