1. See Damage Increases by Size to calculate the damage for a weapon larger than Medium or smaller than Small.
2. Weight figures are for Medium weapons. A Small weapon weighs half as much, and a Large weapon weighs twice as much.
3. When two types are given, the weapon is both types if the entry specifies "and", either type (player's choice at time of attack) if the entry specifies "or", or each end of the double weapon is a different type if the entry specifies "/".
4. The hp value given is for Medium armor, weapons, and shields. Divide by 2 for each size category of the item smaller than Medium, or multiply it by 2 for each size category larger than Medium.

The battle rifle is a larger and heavier version of an assault rifle, not long range enough to count as a sniper rifle but larger and more powerful than lesser guns. The battle rifle has an ammo stock of 20 shots which are automatically reloaded. Changing the bullet magazine is a full-round action which provokes attacks of opportunity.

The battle rifle can be used as a martial weapon just fine, but only those with Exotic Weapon Proficiency can access its further benefits. Those with proficiency can add their Dexterity modifier to their damage. There is a switch on the side which can change its firing mode to various special attack modes shown below.

Burst Fire: With an standard action you fire a short burst of shots. You consume 2 shots, dealing 2d10 damage (for medium creatures). For each additional attack you would be granted from a high BAB or an extra attack such as from haste, you expend another bullet and gain another +1d10 damage. For example with BAB +11 and haste (4 attacks) you would deal 6d10 plus Dex in damage, expending 6 bullets. Burst Fire is good for bypassing damage reduction.

Gun Stand: If you are prone, you can set a pair of stabilizing legs as a move action. You gain a +2 bonus to attack, or a +4 bonus if you only make a single attack. If you move more than 5 feet for any reason, the benefits of his attack mode ends.

Rifle Bash: You can use the battle rifle as a club of its size, using the battle rifle's special weapon enhancements (if applicable). You take a -2 penalty to attack rolls when using the battle rifle as a melee weapon.
