Class Features[edit]

All of the following are class features of the Battlerunner.

Sled Fang (Ex): As a full round action the battlerunner can dash forward with unnatural speed, striking multiple targets with a single strike. You may make a single attack roll against all creatures in a 10 ft line as long as you end in a valid space. You do not provoke attacks of opportunity for your movement or passing through the creatures squares. Difficult terrain halves the distance but otherwise does not prevent the attack. This ability increases in range by +10 ft for every class level you possess.

Skirmish (Ex): The battlerunner gains the skirmish ability of a ScoutCA of his level. If you already possess skirmish, add your battlerunner levels to your skirmish granting classes to determine the level of your skirmish ability.

Spring Flurry (Ex): A battlerunner is able to attack more than once while making a spring attack. At 2nd level they may use their full number of attacks and move up to their movement speed as a full round action. However they cannot attack the same creature more than once, so this works best against groups of opponents. As with Spring Attack, you do not provoke for your movement against those who you attack. If charging, you only count as charging is you have moved at least 10 ft and must maintain a straight line (until Bent Charge).

Fast Movement (Su): At 3rd level, the battlerunner gains a +10 enhancement bonus to all their movement speeds. This increases by an additional +10 at 6th level, and 9th level, for a total of +30. If you have fast movement from other classes such as Scout or Monk, this stacks.

Bonus Feat: At 4th and 8th level, the battlerunner obtains a bonus feat they qualify for from any Fighter type feat, or any feat which augments movement speeds or adds new movement speeds.

Bent Charge (Ex): The 5th level battlerunner is able to adjust the course of their charges by up to 90 degrees and still maintain a charge.

Wallrunner (Ex): Gravity is more of a suggestion to the 5th level battlerunner. So long as they end their turn on a valid surface that can support them, they are able to run along the walls, ceilings, and upon liquids as if they were normal ground.

Provoke and Counter (Ex): Most battlerunners seek to avoid attacks of opportunity for movement, but the 7th level battlerunner can choose to provoke intentionally. If the creature takes the attack of opportunity, you also gain an attack of opportunity against them (both events occur simultaneously and do not cancel each other regardless of the result).

Zig Zag Charge (Ex): The 10th level battlerunner can count any amount of turning during movement as a charge, so long as they have moved at least 10 ft between attacks.

Focused Flurry (Ex): The restriction of one attack per creature from your Spring Flurry ability is removed from the 10th level battlerunner. You may attack the same target multiple times, so long as you move at least 5 ft with each attack.

Playing a Battlerunner[edit]

Combat: Never stop moving. Ever.

Advancement: Many battlerunners are also scouts, but they can also be from other classes who require the scout-like mobility. Their future prospects often depend on what they were originally.

Battlerunners in the World[edit]

What was that glint?!
—Lynx the Destroyer, moments before death

NPC Reactions: You are the sort of fighter they imagine when they here absurd wirework and fanciful swordplay.

Battlerunner Lore[edit]

Characters with ranks in Martial Lore can research battlerunners to learn more about them. When a character makes a skill check, read or paraphrase the following, including information from lower DCs.

Martial Lore
DC Result
10 Battlerunners are skirmish fighters like Scouts. They move and strike in one single motion.
15 Battlerunners are known to attack large groups and bring them all down in rapid succession as they blur across the battlefield.
20 Powerful battlerunners can dance around their opponents cutting them to ribbons, all while intentionally leaving holes in their defenses in order to inflict further injury.
30 Those that reach this level of success can research specific battlerunners, their whereabouts, motives, favorite weapons, and other details.
