Becursed Blademaster

A Becursed Blademaster trade her familiar for a powerful cursed weapon. The Becursed Blade they inherit is bound to their soul and neither can exist without the other. Unfortunately such weapon can grow quite intelligent and vicious as both it and it master grow in power.

Class: HexbladeComplete Warrior

Level: 1st-20th

Replaces: Hexblade Curse (modified), Summon Familiar

Benefit: A Becursed Blademaster receive the following class features:


Becursed Blade: The hexblade start the game with a powerful cursed weapon, it can be of any weapon type that the hexblade is proficient with at 1st level. The becursed blade is cursed and bound to her. At the start of the game, the Becursed Blade is a masterwork weapon which count as a magical weapon for the purpose of bypassing damage reduction and striking incorporeal creatures.

As the hexblade progress in level, her becursed blade also grow in power. At 2nd level, 4th level and every 4 level it gain an enhancement bonus, up to +5 at level 16th. Additionally at 4th level, 6th level each 4 levels thereafter it gain a special ability bonus, at a maximum of +5 at 18th level. Whenever the hexblade gain a level, she may change which special ability she has chosen. The becursed blade cannot be enhanced further like a normal magic weapon, it may still receive enhancement with a fixed cost however.

At 4th level it become an intelligent item, gaining an alignment of the hexblade player's choice, even if it does not match the hexblade's. Unlike a normal intelligent item it is unable to contest the hexblade's will and is always subservient to her. It does not have this limitation for any other wielder and will usually seek to control them for it own goals.

Soulbound Curse: A Becursed Blade is bound to the hexblade's very soul, and cannot be forsaken without consequences. If she forsake the blade or is forcefully separated from it, she take 1 non-lethal damage per HD every day she is separated, this non-lethal cannot be healed until she is reunited with the blade. If the non-lethal damage equal or exceed her maximum hit points she dies. The becursed blade count as part of her body for the purpose of bringing her back from the dead and if reunited with the hexblade who died from the separation, she is brought back to life as per raise dead with no level loss.

The hexblade constantly know where her Becursed Blade as per find the path, this can be resumed or suppressed as a free action.

Unbreakable (Ex): As long as it wielded by the hexblade, the Becursed Blade cannot be sundered or taken below 0 hit points. If reduced to 0 hp in other conditions, it instead falls inert in a broken condition, and unable to be used until repaired, but is not destroyed as items usually are. It is instantly repaired at full hit points hit points after the hexblade rest for at least 8 hours.

Curse Ability: A becursed blade gain several special abilities, these abilities count as lesser power for the purpose of calculating the becursed blade's ego score and has already been accounted for the in the table above. Once a curse ability is chosen it cannot be changed.

Elemental Hex (Su): Once per day as a swift action, the hexblade may spend one of her hexblade's curse for the day. If she does, her weapon become sheathed in energy. Choose acid, cold, electricity or fire. The becursed blade deal 1d6 extra damage of the chosen energy type for the next 24 hours.
Hexing Focus (Su): You gain an additional use of hexblade's curse per day. Additionally if a creature make a successful save and negate your hexblade's curse it is not expended. This only apply if your hexblade's curse targeted a single creature.
Lifedrain Curse (Su): If the becursed blade strike a creature afflicted by the hexblade's curse, the hexblade recover half the damage dealt in hit point, up to the struck creature's hit points + 10 before accounting damage from the attack. If she slay the creature she recover it hit dice in hit points as well.

Alertness: The wielder of a becursed blade receive the Alertness feat as a bonus feat as long as she wield it.

Attitude: A Becursed Sword is either indifferent, friendly or hostile toward it wielder. It cannot defy the will of the Becursed Blademaster, but in the hands of another creature it may influence it ego against or for it 'master'. If blade the is indifferent it also has a purpose, although it does not gain a dedicated power.

Telepathy (Su): The Becursed Blade is capable of communicating telepathically without the need of a shared language as long as the wielder is touching it.

Curse Ability: A becursed blade gain several powerful special abilities, these abilities count as greater power for the purpose of calculating the becursed blade's ego score and has already been accounted for the in the table above. Once a greater curse ability is chosen it cannot be changed.

Artifact: At 20th level and above, the becursed blade become a major artifact. It become extremely hard to damage, with a specific method chosen by the GM and player both.

Blademaster's Curse (Su): As the Hexblade class feature, except it may only be used while the Hexblade is wielding her Becursed Blade. This apply to any feat or abilities which draw upon Hexblade's Curse uses.
