You create a crude simulacrum in the shape of any Medium or smaller creature under 5 HD, with no features and translucent gelatinous skin with stone-like bones within.  This creature is under your control like a summoned creature, but cannot attack and is physically weak (only able to move and lift 5 lbs or less).  It has as many hp as the creature it is duplicating but no other traits.  What traits it does possess is that its body is remarkably similar to normal flesh for reacting to hazards such as heat, cold, ballistic impacts, cuts, and other wounds.  The gel discolors when injured, and also is disrupted in the presence of other biohazards such as poison and radiation or magical threats such as negative energy with the appropriate apparent wounds.  By directing the simulacrum to perform tasks, one can observe the effects it would have had on an actual creature of that type.  Heal checks can be made on the simulacrum as if it were a real body.  Best of all, no longer need you sacrifice your celestial monkeys to try out traps.

The simulacrum has an AC of 5, always fails its saves, and melts away when its duration is up, but it leaves a "corpse" if its hit points are brought to 0 hp which can no longer be commanded but can be studied.
