''A cloak made of black chains spills from your shoulders, seeming to wave and move like snakes. With a clatter of metal, the chains latch out and embed themselves into the bodies of your enemies.''

You generate several shadowy chains which can be thrown at opponents and embed themselves in their flesh, injuring them and anchoring them to your body. When you first cast this spell, you can make one ranged touch attack roll to any target in 60 ft. and if you hit, you deal 1d6 + [[Str]] in damage with a 20/x2 critical. On a successful hit, you can either rip the chain out, dealing an additional 2d6 damage, or leave it in them. The victim is connected by the chain and is unable to leave farther than 60 ft. from you unless it succeeds on an opposed strength check against you, dragging you 5 ft. plus 5 ft. for every 5 points they exceed on the check. Likewise, as a move action, you can drag a captured victim closer with the same opposed strength check, retracting your chain and shortening the maximum distance they can travel.

You can have up to 1 target per caster level trapped at the same time, and can throw out additional chains out as an attack action. The chains can be attacked, but have hardness 10 and take half damage from all sources except force damage. They have AC 18 (+8 size modifier) and have 10 + your caster level in hp. Each attack you make reduces the remaining duration by 1 minute. If an attack reduces the remaining duration to 0 minutes or less, the spell ends after the attack resolves.
