*Black rogue armor counts as a masterwork Hide and Move Silently skill tool.
*At night or in areas of darkness, you can move up to your normal speed while using the Hide skill without a penalty, and you only take a -10 penalty instead of -20 to hide while attacking, running or charging.
*At night or in areas of darkness, your rogue level counts as 2 higher for the purpose of making and defending against sneak attacks. This includes the increase in sneak attack damage. NonUnder similar circumstances, any non-rogue characters wearing the armor gain the sneak attack of a 2nd-level rogue.
As the black rogue armor is often associated with all manner of mischief, wearing the armor in the open invites distrust. You incur a -4 penalty to any Charisma-based checks (except for Intimidate) while dealing with reputable folks and the general law-abiding populace. Guards and officers of the law witnessing you in black rogue armor are likely to reduce their attitude by one step, or possibly more depending on the local situation (see Diplomacy). On the other hand, with the right people (examples: fences, thieves, black marketeers, members of the underground), it grants a +2 bonus instead. As such, many users of this armor tend to cover it up in public.
