In her mad series of experiment she create terrible wraith through her dark arcane science. Although she is now long gone, it is said that within her old estate is her lab and within it is the secret of creating life only loyal to oneself. Rumors persist of it life creating ability, and many sought it, and found that the estate was quite an hostile place for adventurers.

The estate includes a few secondary buildings for the housing of servants and a vineyard, although it is all but abandoned. The estate has a large and sinister hedge maze in the back. The Estate is built on a hill surrounded by light and pleasant woods, it is linked to the nearby town by an old but well-maintained series of roads and bridges.

A character must be 3rd level or higher in order to receive the benefit of the Bleakstag Estate.

Location Activation[edit]

In order to receive the benefit of the Bleakstag Estate one must first brave it and in order to benefit from the magic of the place, one must bring a number of expensive alchemical reagents (activation cost). The estate is haunted by wraiths, which are contained inside of the estate because of its serrenwood doors and wall. The estate also feature a large hedge maze, where the back entrance is hidden while a singular Stone Golem has been assigned to protecting the front door. The hedge maze is safe during the day, but quickly fills with various undeads during the night. The Stone Golem is a mighty foe but is instructed to not damage the estate, and thus is unable to pursue its targets once they are inside.

Once access inside the estate is granted, the character must reach the secret labs below the estate. There they will find various glass tubes filled with strange liquid. The character will have to mix the reagents and a drop of their own blood inside one of the tubes. Once done, their new companion will slowly grow over the course of a week and will be then ready for release. Upon successfully using this magical location, the character gains a Familiar. As either a Ranger or Wizard of their character level. If the character already had one of such companions, using the magical location makes them scale based on your character level rather than class level.

If a Ranger use this magical location, it animal companion now scale to her full class level (like a Druid's animal companion).

Duration[edit]

The ability granted by visiting Bleakstag Estate is permanently acquired.

Ability Value[edit]

8,000 gp for a familiar or 4,000 gp for adjusting the scaling of a previous animal companion or familiar.
