Bleeding EdgeEdit

In a world where strange and powerful monsters now roam, only those warriors bearing special "blood weapons" can fight off the scourge of evil that threatens the land.

Once within this realm known as Accolade, a great nation arose among the rest. The Kingdom of Vulpeculae, rich with the knowledge of ancient dragons and forgotten magic, grew well and prosperous beyond anything that which it fellow nations could compare. In this golden age, a great many artifacts were created. The Edgemaster's Workshop appeared, building mysterious weapons of great renown and led by the legendary smith Wayland the Gray. The Atheneum of Knowledge stored all the secrets of mankind and of those before then, its contents cared for by the great Scholar Anaxagoras. New material was unearthed from the land thanks to Dr. Martel and his Abyss Delvers, those which explored the catacombs and caves of the deep. And the entire Kingdom was kept safe by Lord Rama and his Golden Army. With these groups under the wing of Vulpeculae's king, it seemed nothing could stop their spread over the world.

And yet it came to pass that one day the kingdom was visited by dread omens. The sky grew dim, seemingly always in the throes of twilight. The waters turned bitter and poisonous. The air seemed somehow stifled, choking sound and breath alike. And at last the kingdom's animals all went mad. The kingdom's top men set upon seeking the source of their woes in the secrets they had, and seemingly had found them all but too late. Within a single night, the entire kingdom was brought to ruin in an orgy of madness and death. Vulpeculae and all of its riches were destroyed, and the land was consumed in a massive sinkhole.

100 years later, the world had recovered from that fateful night, which some call the Eclipse. Those brave enough to ignore the tales of curses inhabiting that land have begun flowing back into the ruins of the former kingdom, seeking fame, glory, and wonder. Yet as they flow in, terrible monsters have begun to flow out of the cursed kingdom. These monsters are not of normal kin. Stronger, faster, smarter and more deadly than ever, they prove to be difficult or impossible to defeat without using Vulpeculae's technique of "blood weaponry", which consumed the users own blood to empower their blades with supernatural forces capable of permanently slaying monstrous kin emboldened and empowered by the cursed land.

Use of this technique may be necessary, for the land's curse has been spreading.
