Blood Pin HiltEdit

Technically an augmentation to a pre-existing weapon hilt, this blood pin has a small needle which can sample blood, or inject poison as a trap. Inside the weapon is a small reservoir to store liquids, which can be loaded or unloaded as a standard action. Many use it as a trap to inject poison into the wielder. As a trap, it requires a DC 20 Spot check, and a DC 20 Disable Device check to disable the mechanism. Those who are aware of the trap and have used the weapon for at least 24 hours can keep the trap activated but avoid triggering it, otherwise it takes a DC 10 Dexterity check each time you draw the weapon. The needle deals 1 point of damage to the wielder and injects whatever contents into the bloodstream.

Alternatively it can draw blood, dealing 1 point of damage and filling the vial within with blood. There's usually no point to this except perhaps for vampires and the occasional unusual blood powered magic item.

The needle can be made of special materials, usually for bypassing damage reduction. The cost is for a single piece of ammunition.

Craft (Weapons) DC 20. Market Price 300 gp.
