A bladed weapon that is left intentionally unsharpened and built for it. The use of blunt blade is atypical, mostly used by swordmasters when in need of bludgeoning weapon without having to train in a new weapon. While generally inferior to a proper bludgeon, the advantages of not needing to learn a new weapon is a quality on it own.
The blunt weapon item template can be added to any melee weapon that normally deals slashing damage.
Requirements
The creator of a blunt weapon must possess at least 4 ranks in the appropriate Craft for the weapon in question.
Blunt Weapon
A blunt weapon deals bludgeoning damage instead of slashing damage, and it critical threat drop by 1 point., to a minimum of 20. Thus a blunt longsword would have a critical threat of 20/x2. If the weapon could deal piercing damage it can still be used to do so, with it normal critical threat.
