The sphere deals 1d6 [[SRD:Fire Effect|fire]] damage per round to targets within its space. At the end of its duration, the ''boiling sphere'' bursts, dealing 1d6 points of fire damage to all adjacent targets. A [[SRD:Reflex|Reflex]] save halves this splash damage. 

The steam (or bubbles if underwater) obscure all vision through the sphere's space, rendering a creature entirely occupying the sphere's space as effectively blind. The sphere does not provide cover from ranged attacks, but it may provide [[SRD:Concealment|concealment]].

This spell functions normally underwater and in vacuums. Moving through a ''boiling sphere'' counts as [[SRD:Movement, Position, and Distance#Difficult Terrain|difficult terrain]].
