Bonus Invocations

Spellcasters get bonus spells & spell slots for having high casting ability scores. Manifesters get more power points for having higher manifesting ability scores. But with only 12 invocations known over 20 levels for the vanilla WarlockCArc, let's face it, invokers could use some love. By heavily restricting the number of invocations known, the existing rules guarantee only the most powerful, broadly applicable invocations are ever chosen, with no room for extraneous invocations. When higher grades become available, the lower grades are immediately left behind, never to be an option again. By granting additional invocations as the casting ability increases over the character's progression, it gives the invoker some much-needed breathing room. These opportunities to take more flavorful options are designed to create a more well-rounded invoker, and thus provide a more enjoyable playing experience at the table.

This variant rule provides a chart detailing how many bonus invocations are received based on the invocation ability (usually Charisma). Naturally, an invoker must have already gained access to a particular grade of invocations (least, lesser, greater, dark) before receiving bonus ones for a high ability score. When the invoker gains a level which provides a new grade of invocation, they receive all appropriate bonus invocations. Note that a Charisma score of 11 or lower receives no bonus invocations of any grade.
