Burmecian

A race of noble Rat people from a land of eternal rain

Personality

Burmecians are amiable and hard working, and have a proud noble heritage of enduring several devastating wars and defeating the worst of dragons. They can become very haughty because their history, but they are typically a friendly courteous people.

Physical Description

The typical Burmecian is tall, lithe, and very light on their feet. Adults stand 5-6 feet tall and weigh little more than 100 pounds. Physically can be summed up as anthropomorphic rats; they are covered in a short coat of slick fur ranging from brown to gray, they have rat-like muzzles and tall furry ears that sit atop their heads, giving their faces a triangular look. They possess powerful legs with inverted knees and large feet ending in digigrade toes that are ideal for leaping.

Relations

Burmecians get along with all races, but none better and worse than humans. Many of the wars they were involved with had humans on both supporting and opposing side. They do tend to be hesitant to trust Half-orcs due to their barbaric heritage.

Some human-Burmecian relations have spawned 'half Burmecians' which appear as humans with Burmercian rat ears and tails (though more Burmercian traits are not unheard of). They usually are accepted in Burmecian society, but are typically pitied.

Those inclined against Burmecians use derogatory slurs such as 'ratfaces' and 'cheese eaters'

Alignment

Burmecians are a race that's had to come together countless times to fend off impossible odds and face amazing circumstances, this as fostered a need to work together. Honor and charity are among the highest virtues in Burmecian society. Most favor good and lawful alignments.

Lands

Burmecia lies in a land of mist, and is shrouded in eternal rain. Its still under reconstruction, but it is clear it will be prospering within several more years. Burmecia is a walled, multi-leveled, and warren-like city built around the king's palace and showered by constant rain.

Religion

Burmecians have no central racial deity, but often gravitate towards gods of nature or the good or neutral war deities. Examples include Obad-Hai, Kord, and Heironeous.

Language

They speak common, but have a love for the Elvish alphabet.

Names

Their interaction with humans though Burmecian commoners fleeing to become refugees in foreign cities, has diversified the Burmecians to the point few have 'true' Burmecian names. Several such examples include:

Males: Fratley, Frigg, Mala Females: Freya, Sigmund, Erik

Titles are also common among the famous men and women in their community, and are always given to them by the populous.
