Burst Gauntlet

Exotic One-Handed

Cost: 350 gp
Damage (Small): 1d8
Damage (Medium)1: 1d10
Critical: 20/x3
Weight2: 8 lbs
Type3: Bludgeoning
HP4: 8
Hardness: 10

1. See Damage Increases by Size to calculate the damage for a weapon larger than Medium or smaller than Small.
2. Weight figures are for Medium weapons. A Small weapon weighs half as much, and a Large weapon weighs twice as much.
3. When two types are given, the weapon is both types if the entry specifies "and", either type (player's choice at time of attack) if the entry specifies "or", or each end of the double weapon is a different type if the entry specifies "/".
4. The hp value given is for Medium armor, weapons, and shields. Divide by 2 for each size category of the item smaller than Medium, or multiply it by 2 for each size category larger than Medium.

This gauntlet has several pressurized tubes and tanks attached to it, and a large piston on the back. With a move action the gauntlet can be pressurized with air, and any subsequent attack can have the pressure released in a powerful shockwave that pulverizes objects and creatures. The shockwave deals an additional +1d10 bonus damage, and the damage of the entire attack ignores hardness and damage reduction (except DR/-) and energy resistances (if the weapon deals any elemental damage). If the attack is a natural 20, the creature is also staggered for 1 round if you expend your shockwave.

You can expend your shockwave without making an attack roll to release a pressure wave in a 15 ft cone. It deals your base weapon damage without any ability modifiers to damage (but weapon enhancements do apply) in a 15 ft cone with no save. The pressure wave can also blow away gases or kick up dust and debris as if a gust of wind.

If made against an object it adds +4 to the Strength check for the break DC if you expend your shockwave. If made against the ground with hardness 8 or less, you can leave difficult terrain in a 10 ft radius burst. If you have Rapid Reload you can charge your shockwave as a free action, but you can still only make a single shockwave attack once per round.

You may use your unarmed strike damage or the weapon damage, whichever is higher, and count attacks with the gauntlet as unarmed attacks when beneficial. The gauntlet is bulky, you can hold but not wield items in your gauntleted hand, and you cannot perform somatic components with this hand.
