An imposing nighthide black cape with a matching set of pauldron, the cape of the dark overlord is a mighty item on the shoulder of a worthy Blackguard. It sheer magical imposing nature grant it wearer a +5 circumstance bonus to Intimidate and a +4 bonus on leadership score as long as the cape is worn in public.
The cape also provide magical protection, granting it wearer gain DR 2/Good for each uses of smite good they have daily, to a maximum of DR 10/Good at 5 uses. Additionally if the wearer is evil aligned and possess the Aura of Despair ability, they extend it 15 feet instead of 10 feet. This extend to other aura of the same nature (such as a Paladin of Slaughter's Debilitating aura).
Finally as an immediate action, the wearer of the Cape of the Dark Overlord may spend a daily use of smite good, if they possessed the ability per encounter it is 'burned' for the day. Upon doing so the wielder shield itself with the cape, doubling the damage reduction granted by it and turning it into DR/-. If a Holy weapon is blocked this way, it instantly gain the Broken condition. While doing so all unattended nonmagical holy symbol within 50 feet shatter into pieces (as the shatter spell).
Prerequisites: Craft Wondrous Item, unholy aura, crafter must be a fiend or have a Aura of Evil.
