Caukidara[edit]

Every generation has a great war, and every great war results in the same things: fire, death, pain, starvation, senseless destruction, and the temporary exchange of power structure or territories. To most, especially those not directly benefiting from war, it all seems senseless. Some simply could not take the constant strife of their empire and formed a hidden monastery called the Akhiri Um'mida. There, a small organization of monks works to preserve the knowledge that would otherwise be destroyed each time a tyrant got greedy. After centuries of near complete isolation, the monks of Akhiri Um'mida have become a subrace of human, resilient and devoted.

Personality[edit]

Caukidara behave much as the humans they are descended from, but for an especially reserved nature and isolationist perspective more similar to that of the dwarves.

Physical Description[edit]

Generations hidden in their monastery home have given the caukidara pale skin and a slightly stockier frame than most humans, though not far beyond the norm. The most obvious difference between caukidara and normal humans is an obviously superior frame; caukidara are extraordinarily sturdy and well developed due to rigorous training from early youth.

Relations[edit]

Caukidara very rarely interact with outsiders. Every generation or so one member of their race may be sent to the outside world to collect knowledge and prevent stagnation of their culture and gene-pool, but these forays into the outside are rare and viewed with great distaste. Those who travel from the monastery are are often viewed with distrust for many years afterward. All races are viewed with a certain degree of trust, but the unpredictable nature of gnomes and halflings seem to make the caukidara especially uneasy, and the monstrous races are all viewed with outright fear.

Alignment[edit]

All caukidara are of a strong lawful alignment, generally leaning toward good. Very few fall to outright evil.

Lands[edit]

The location of their Monastery is unknown, and they have no lands beyond these.

Religion[edit]

Few caukidara subscribe to any religion, though many perform the religious rites of many groups to better preserve and understand the gods.

Language[edit]

Caukidara speak Common.

Names[edit]

Cuakidara take human names, though some are known to choose elven or dwarven names instead.
