Class Features

All of the following are class features of the Chemist.

Proficiencies: A chemist gains no new armor or weapon proficiencies.

Spellfree Brewing: A chemist may brew potions without knowing the spell. At each level, the chemist chooses 4 spells that he knows for the sake of brewing. Chemists that take levels in a different class choose 2 spells instead. Spells may be chosen off of the Sorcerer/Wizard, Cleric, and Druid spell list with a maximum spell level of half of the chemist's challenge rating. Chosen spells cannot have an experience cost or require a non-divine focus component.

Daily Potions: Chemists learn how to craft potions quicker at the expense of the longevity of the potion. Once per day, by spending an hour preparing potions, a chemist can craft multiple potions quickly. These potions last for a maximum of 24 hours. A chemist can craft a number of daily potions equivalent to his chemist level. These potions do not cost any experience to craft and only one tenth of its crafting cost.

Brew Potion: At first level, a chemist gains Brew Potion even if he does not meet the prerequisites for the feat. If the chemist already has Brew Potion, then the chemist instead gains a bonus feat from the chemist bonus feat list below.

Faster Consumption: At various levels, a chemist can make potions that can be consumed faster. Even though these potions can be consumed faster, only one potion may be consumed in a round. Any other potions consumed do not take effect.

Movement Action: At second level, potions brewed by a chemist only take a movement action to consume.
Swift Action: At fourth level, potions brewed by a chemist only take a swift action to consume.
Potion patch: At seventh level, potions brewed by a chemist may take the form of a patch applied to the skin. When properly applied to the body, it only takes an immediate action to enable them. A creature may have no more than 4 patches applied at once. Applying more than four patches to a creature causes the initially placed patch to immediately take effect. Applying and removing patches takes one minute.

Advanced Brewing: At third level, a chemist transcends the normal limit of potions, and may ignore the spell level limit of Brew Potion. For example, a fourth level chemist could brew a potion of Remove Curse.

Perfect Throw Potion: At fifth level, a chemist perfects the ability to throw potions. The chemist may throw multiple potions in a full round action.

Anyshape Brewing: At sixth level, a chemist may create potions of any shape. The consumer of the potion automatically fails any reflex save against the spell. The spell is centered around the consumer of the potion. Spells with a shape of Line are treated as if the consumer was hit by the line. Not all spells can be made into potions. Only spells which affect living creatures may be made into potions.

Batch Processing: At eighth level, when a chemist normally brews a potion, he may brew multiple potions in a batch. Up to 12 potions may be brewed in one batch, and any non-temporal costs must be paid normally.

Experienced Brewer: At tenth level, a chemist has brewed potions long enough that he has mastered the secret of imparting potions with magic without giving up personal power. Potions brewed by a chemist no longer require experience.

Bonus Feats: Alchemical Mastery, Augmented AlchemyCE, Brutal ThrowCAdv, Extended Shot, Far Throw, GrenadierPHB2, Heightened Potion, Point Blank Shot, Potion Sipper, Power ThrowCAdv, Quick Draw, and Skill Focus (craft).
