Chirurgic Stanch[edit]

Often used in surgical situations and other medical practices, chirurgic stanch is a useful potion that slows biological functions to a dull ebb. It appears as a thin runny pale orange liquid which smells strongly of blood. It can be swallowed or, often, injected into the body. Creatures can resist the effect (a DC 13 Fortitude save) as if it were a poison, but immunity to poison does not grant immunity to this generally helpful potion. Instead, they get a +8 on saves against the effect.

Upon getting the potion in their system the drinker becomes immune to bleeding damage, including bleeding out from dying and from the effects based on blood loss like a vampire's bite or a Wounding weapon. They are also immune to all pain effects such as symbol of pain. After 1 minute, the subject enters a state similar to rigor mortis, paralyzed and unconscious for 30 minutes + 3d20 additional minutes. The subject may attempt a second save to resist the paralysis and unconsciousness.

The subject is not in stasis and can still take damage. However any Heal checks done on the body during its paralysis and unconsciousness receive a +8 alchemical bonus. If the subject was suffering from any status effects, these effects are suspended as long as they are paralyzed and unconscious.

Faint necromany; CL 6th; Brew Potion, gentle repose; Price 300 gp.
