Tastes like chicken.

SKRAA!!! BUK BUK!!!

Giant, featherless bipeds that resemble giant chickens, if the chickens lacked a neck and possessed an oversized head at the front of their body. They have a near lizard-like short tail, and leathery skin. They are large flightless birds designed for high speed transport and climbing, and are comparable to light horses. They are usually found in places where hooves suffer, as the chook's clawed feet are good for clambering on uneven surfaces. They are capable of high speed, but tire quicker than horses, and are said to be bird brained and dim witted.

They still count as quadrupedal for the purposes of carrying capacity, but no other purposes. A light load for a equus chook is up to 150 pounds; a medium load, 151–300 pounds; and a heavy load, 301–450 pounds. An equus chook can drag 2,250 pounds.

A light load for a warchook is up to 230 pounds; a medium load, 231–460 pounds; and a heavy load, 461–690 pounds. A warchook can drag 3,450 pounds.

Combat

Equus chooks come in untrained and war trained much like horses. Untrained chooks treat their beak as a secondary weapon, and cannot fight while carrying a rider. Warchooks on the other hand deal Strength and a half on their primary beak. They can be used in place of a horse mount.

Sprint (Ex): Once per hour, the equus chook can increase their movement speed by x10 for 1 round.

Animal Companions

An equus warchook can be chosen as a starting animal companion in place of a light horse.
