Corpse Reanimation
Necromancy
Level: Cleric 4, Death Delver 3, Death Knight 3, Dread Necromancer 4, Sorcerer/Wizard 5
Components: V, S, M
Casting time: 10 minutes
Range: Touch
Target: One Dead Creature
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: Will Negate
Spell Resistance: No

The necromancer nervously spoke a few blasphemous words. As it was done, the barbarian's decaying corpse raised onto its feet, still bearing his death wounds, and immediately fell to his knees in pain.

Upon casting this spell, you use necromancy to raise the target from the dead, working as the raise dead spell with a few exceptions. You do not have any time limit to raise the corpse from the dead; however the corpse must be eligible to be raised as a zombie. The target is brought back with all limitations and effects of raise dead (level loss, loss of spells, etc). Since the spell is not healing, it sadly does not revert the full extent of the decay, although it does allow the body to heal normally from it.

If the corpse was under the effect of gentle repose or very fresh (a few hours from death), the creature raises with half hit points instead of 1. If the target was not well-preserved, then she suffers 4 points of Constitution burn (up to a minimum of Con 1) and returns at 1 hit point. If the target started to decay, then she also receives the penalty of the Rigor Mortis flaw with no bonus feat until the Constitution burn is fully healed. If the target was in advanced decay, the Constitution burn increases to 8 or equal to half the target's constitution score (whichever is higher).

Unlike other means of resurrection, it may bring back an unwilling target from the dead. However, an unwilling target is allowed a Will saving throw to resist the effect.

Material Component: Onyx worth a total of least 1,000 gp.
