Cross Explosion Spell [Metamagic] The sky lit up with cross-shaped explosions that tore the city asunder.Benefit: This metamagic is applied to any line spells. The spell becomes a ray affecting a single target within the line's normal reach + 30 ft. If the spell had a Reflex save for half damage it now has no save. Other effects retain saves as normal.

Regardless of the success or failure of the ray, the square the ray ended is becomes the centerpoint of an explosion at the start of your next turn 1 round later. A cross shaped series of lines as per the original spell burst out in all six directions (up, down, north, south, east, and west) dealing their normal effects and saving throws. Its possible for a creature to be hit by the ray and also the line, taking damage twice.

You choose the angle of the cross explosion when the spell is cast. A creature which makes a successful Spellcraft check, or a creature who knows this metamagic effect, can determine that a second effect will occur. The area is also lit up as if an active magic effect for the purpose of detect spells.

A cross explosion spell uses a spell slot +2 levels higher than the spell’s actual level.
