Crystallized Protons
A rare magical material, created by ghost-hunters by binding a building block of matter 'protons' into a crystalline form. Despite being solid, crystallized protons consume anything that touches it. This rare material is only used for the edge of a weapon, very rarely an entire blade is made of it. The hilts and other parts of the weapon must be specially treated to survive extended contact with crystallized protons.
A crystallized protons weapon surge with energy, dealing typeless damage that is still subject to damage reduction and hardness. Crystallized protons weapons always deal full damage to incorporeal creatures, and thus do not suffer the normal miss chance from attacking incorporeal opponents. However crystallized protons are dangerous to the touch, and deal its base damage (plus any enhancement) to anyone or anything touching its damaging end. A crystallized proton weapon thus requires a hardened sheath or some other means of storage. A sheath whose hardness is above the possible damage is usually sufficient.
Because of its dangerous nature, crystallized protons are never made into armor.
Crystallized protons has 20 hit points per inch of thickness and hardness 20.
