Daemonkeeper  (Feat)
You have a companion spirit, called a Daemon, bonded to you. This grants you the following benefits:

  • You learn the Find Familiar spell, and may cast it as a ritual. Choose Constitution, Intelligence, Wisdom or Charisma - The chosen ability is your spellcasting ability for this spell.
  • Your familiar improves with you. When you summon your Familiar, it can take the form of any creature, other than creatures of the Humanoid, Giant, Plant, or Ooze types, that is not a Worthy Foe for your level. In addition, its Intelligence score is a minimum of 6.
For example, a character with this feat could summon their Daemon in the form of a Flying Sword, a CR 1/4 Construct creature, and its Intelligence score would be a minimum of 6, instead of the creature's usual Intelligence of 1.
  • Whenever you take a Short or Long Rest, you can cast Find Familiar as a ritual during the rest. In doing so, you may expend a number of Hit Dice not exceeding your Proficiency Bonus in order to summon your Familiar without expending material components for the spell. When you do so, roll the expended Hit Dice, add your Constitution modifier to each die, and total the result - If the result is 10 points or higher, the Familiar is summoned without a material component, and it gains the remainder as temporary hit points.
For example, if a 1st-level Variant Human Barbarian with this feat summoned their familiar, they could expend 1 or 2 Hit Dice to do so during a rest. If they expended 2 of their d12 Hit Dice, and rolled a total of 14, the familiar would be summoned, and would have 4 (14 - 10) temporary hit points.
