Death Tear

Said to be the tears from the often unmoved visage of death itself, this shimmering clear jewel consumes the body on its death, and allows the beings restoration afterwards. If you die with a death tear on your person, your body and all your belongings collapse into vapor, leaving only the death tear which is now cloudy and opaque. Upon the completion of a ritual with the jewel (varying from each kind of death tear, ranging from anything as simple as submerging it in water to as complex as waiting for the blood of a virgin to drip on it under a full moon), the being contained in the jewel will be reborn as if under true resurrection, though you still suffer a negative level or Con reduction as if raise dead had been used. The jewel will return to its clear state once the being is released. If the jewel is destroyed (hardness 20, 40 hp) then the body and its items are lost in the Astral, and the soul departs to its afterlife (killing them).

A cloudy death tear does not function and cannot be used to store another soul. The body and soul do not pass onto their afterlife, and are in a state not unlike temporal stasis.
