Devourer Overview    

Unofficial Description: Devourers were created by Orcus to roam the planes, devouring souls and creating undead. They appear as desiccated giants with clawed hand and feet, and an exposed rib-cage (which sometimes contains an entrapped humanoid.

Classification

There is a dispute as to the exact nature of devourers. Volo indicates that they are fiends , while Mordenkainen describes them as undead .

Devourers lurk on the Ethereal Plane and the Astral Plane, stalking both natives and travelers with equal sadistic glee. A devourer is about 9 feet tall and weighs 500 pounds.
