|I have to agree. User [[User:Quode]] has one purpose here, and thats to be disruptive - not contributing to the overall Wikia. From Quode's talk page (before it was changed), "Im Quode, chief Randy Richerds debunker. Thats why im here folks."  I'm quite suprised Quode would admit publically to being a stalker, but so much the better for us.

"Text goes here." Is the only part that needs to be changed.

In this section, you may ask questions and I will try to answer them.

How do we change the icon on the top left of every page?

Erm, I'm not Sleepycjkun, but I'll answer this question anyway if I may. Please not that this is an 'ADMIN-ONLY' thing.

Steps:

  1. Go to Image:Wiki.png
  2. Upload image

Please note that the image should be 135x155. Some logos are bigger, some are smaller, but this is the ideal size. See wikia:Help:Improving your Wikia#Change the logo.

Important:' I have noticed you use OGL content on this wiki. Please note that it is probably not compatible with GFDL. Please go to Forum:OGL vs GFDL, possible multiple copyvios to read more and discuss solutions.

Thanks for bringing this up, I followed your link and posted an answer there.

Are you guys working to make a complete SRD? If so, I could help. I've been playing since the game originally came out. Also, wouldn't it be better to have all of the information on this site, instead of having a bunch of external links?.

Knock yourself out, we appreciate any help we can get! Yes, we do want to have a complete SRD here, but for example it won't be enough to have one page on all feats, because they will apparently be referenced individually. There were some legal questions, but I guess they are solved now, we just have to clearly indicate that all SRD material is by OGL.

D&D came out originally in 1974, and you say you've already been playing? Now, that's cool!

What do you mean by a "bunch of external links"? Articles? I guess we can't copy the content here due to--again--legal issues (licensing and stuff).

I didn't mean in 74. Not that old yet. I meant version 3.x. Sorry about that. Is there a certain template that I should use for certain things? I noticed how all the feats have a sort of yellow box. Do you have one for skills? Also, which SRD should I use? There are a few different ones, like the Hypertext SRD and the one from WotC. I don't think that they differ much, but for legal reasons, it would probably be better if all of it came from the same place.

I've just tried to make a nice template for skills, but didn't succeed: either template's parameters can't be that big or there's something else I don't understand at the moment. So I just reduced the template to something that shows copyright info and categorises stuff.

I use the Hypertext SRD just because it's easy to get the information from AND almost all fixes from errata are already there, but from the legal point of view the content is still OGC and belongs originally to WotC.

Me again. For the weapons, should we make it all one long page, or have individual pages? If separate, then should I put their stats on the individual page as well as the main table, or just on the main table?

Also, I'm contacting WotC to see if I can make direct links to their info pages for their adventures.

Last also. If I post an original adventure, should I add a license to it? If so, which one?

For the weapons I strongly suggest we have separate pages: that way we will be able to add more interesting information about the weapon itself, its use, role in history, usage in movies, etc. If you need to have a place to compare them, feel free to make a general table with everything in it and links to individual pages (or a table per group: simple weapons, martial weapons, exotic weapons, etc).

It's not quite clear to me what exactly are you asking from WotC (I mean everyone is free to make links to anything in the Internet), but keep me posted about the results.

You don't have to attach any specific license to your adventure, it's kinda taken care automatically: anything submitted to the D&D Wikia is GFDL, and your name is recorded in editing history. However, if you want to be specific, use GFDL, GPL and/or OGL templates (OGL is nice for compatibility with other non-standard D&D stuff) or just say it's public domain. If you use illustrations, they must have a kind of license info.

Hi, I was just wondering, can we use stuff from other wikis, such as the D&D Wiki? Also, exactly how much can we use from OGL-licensed content, such as the SRD?

In order to use content from other sources (D&D Wiki, SRD, WotC website, etc), you need to consult the source itself and see if the rules they pose on distribution of their content allow copy-pasting, referencing and so on. As of now, DanD Wiki uses GNU FDL. OGL can also be used freely as far as the use conforms to the license.

A recently created Wikia account User:Quode, which according to her own user page is a "single purpose account", is causing a disturbance on the article I am trying to edit (Randy Richards and his works/company). Can she receive a warning, or better yet a blocked IP/user account? Thanks.
