Minor Elemental Affinity [Special]

You gain a minor ability to manipulate an element of your choice while transformed.
The warrior raised his hands and the earth rose with him, forming a thick wall between his comrades and the incoming arrows.
Prerequisite(s): Ability to speak at least one of the following languages: Auran (Air), Aquan (Water), Ignan (Fire) or Terran (Earth).
Description: While transformed, you may crudely manipulate one of the four base elements (Air, Earth, Fire or Water). You gain a Bender level equal to your Grim caster level, but only for the purposes of the Elemental Affinity alterations.

Choose one of the following:

  • Air: While transformed, you gain the Minor Bends ability of the Bender of Air. While transformed, you also gain the Air Mastery of an Air elemental, causing airborne targets to suffer a -1 penalty on attack and damage rolls against you.
  • Earth: While transformed, you gain the Minor Bends ability of the Bender of Earth. While transformed, you also gain the Earth Mastery of an Earth elemental, granting you a +1 bonus on attack and damage rolls when you and your opponent are both touching the ground, but also causing you to suffer a -4 penalty on attack and damage rolls if your target is airborne or waterborne.
  • Fire: While transformed, you gain the Minor Bends ability of the Bender of Fire. While transformed, you also gain the Burn ability of a Fire elemental, causing your unarmed attacks to deal an additional 1d4 Fire damage, and causing those who attack you in melee to also take this Fire damage.
  • Water: While transformed, you gain the Minor Bends ability of the Bender of Water. While transformed, you also gain the Water Mastery of a Water elemental, granting you a +1 bonus on attack and damage rolls when you and your opponent are both touching water, but also causing you to suffer a -4 penalty on attack and damage rolls if you and/or your target is touching land.
Special: This Alteration can be taken more than once. Each time, it applies to a new element, and thus can be taken a maximum of four times. When you gain this Alteration any time after the first, you cannot choose the opposing element of the element you previously chose - So if you chose Fire the first time, you could only choose Air or Earth the second time, not Water.
