Elush's Leaden Investiture
Transmutation [Earth]
Level: Sorcerer/Wizard 1
Components: V, S
Casting time: 1 standard action
Range: Close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
Targets: One creature/level, no two of which can be more than 20ft apart
Duration: 1 round/level
Saving Throw: Will negates
Spell Resistance: Yes

Scarred by his experience (in both the literal and non-literal way) with first speakers, Elush sought to improve on his original spell to assist him against more than just normal land movement. This spell was the result, and while less spectacular, has much more broad capabilities, and also is much more tenacious than the original on which it is based.

All the subjects' movement speeds are halved (rounding up). Additionally, if a subject has at least one of the following modes of movement, they receive additional penalties. If the subject in question has more than one such mode, apply all these penalties:

  • Climb speed: The subject loses any bonus to Climb checks (or Athletics checks for climbing, if you're using Tome of Prowess) from having a climb speed. Additionally, they are considered to have four less ranks in Climb (or Athletics, as appropriate) than they actually do for all purposes while this spell is in effect.
  • Fly speed: The subject's fly speed's maneuverability becomes two categories worse. If this would reduce it to worse than clumsy, the subject cannot fly, and must land on its next turn. If it can't, it falls the remaining distance.
  • Swim speed: The subject loses any bonus to Swim checks (or Athletics checks for swimming, if you're using Tome of Prowess) from having a swim speed. Additionally, they are considered to have four less ranks in Swimor Athletics, as appropriate) than they actually do for all purposes while this spell is in effect.

This is considered a form of paralysis (so thus, remove paralysis can get rid of it, and immunity to paralysis also makes you immune to this).
