Even as the paladin swung furiously at the army of the dead, his faith was beginning to waver.
The target creature takes 1 daunt level. If they failed the initial Will save they gain 1 additional daunt level every round after for the duration. The creature can remove daunt levels with a standard action that provokes attacks of opportunity as they clear their head, or they can fall prone from the stress and take a full round action which provokes to end the duration prematurely.
While affected by the daunt level the faith of its victims is shaken. They suffer from a 20% spell failure chance on divine spells and divine abilities activating such as a paladin's smite evil. Spells and abilities which are afflicted are not consumed, as they simply do not activate in the first place.
